Josef Newgarden
Josef Newgarden, a two-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion (2017, 2019) and two-time Indianapolis 500 winner (2023, 2024), returns for his 14th season in 2025, his ninth with Team Penske. With 31 career wins, he’s the winningest active American driver and tied for 10th on the all-time list. Newgarden became the sixth driver to win back-to-back Indy 500s (2023-24) and set an INDYCAR record for most laps led by a race winner (282) at Iowa in 2016. He won the 2011 INDY NXT championship and received INDYCAR’s Tony Renna Rising Star Award in 2013. Off track, Newgarden co-wrote "Josef’s BIG Dream," a children’s book, with his wife Ashley. He enjoys traveling with his family, particularly to Japan, Denmark, and Europe. Newgarden, who holds dual U.S. and Danish citizenship, is a fitness enthusiast and versatile athlete, having appeared on “American Ninja Warrior” and participated in the NFL Combine. He also excels at ping-pong and has hosted celebrity tournaments to benefit charities.
